WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — The oldest school in Wichita is set to undergo major structural repairs.
Starting May 25, work will begin on Wichita East High School’s west hallway corridor.
“We found deteriorating concrete that’s separating from the floors,” said Steve Noble, USD 259’s chief operations officer. “There are falling concrete joists and concrete throughout the supports of that floor underneath. We have monitors in place to measure any changes to the building, but we do need to address this issue soon.”
