Raising walls in Greater Fort Wayne for 40 years: Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne celebrates four decades

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) — Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne will kick off another build season and a milestone year for the organization.

For 40 years, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne has been building homes in Allen, Huntington, and Wells counties. Over the decades, 367 families have achieved the goal of becoming homeowners. The 2026-2027 build season will raise a record 34 homes. Habitat received more than 500 Homeowner applications in January 2026. Only 31 could be selected in Allen County.
