MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A Facebook post from the Madera Police Department highlighted a small act of kindness after someone paid for a meal being picked up for a child in need.
In the post, the department said Tuesday night that one of its officers stopped at a local McDonald’s drive-thru to buy dinner for a child.

When the officer reached the window, they were surprised to learn the order had already been paid for by another customer.
“We can only assume the person who paid it forward believed they were buying a meal for an officer on duty,” the department wrote in the Facebook post. “In reality, it was a Happy Meal for a child in need.”
The department said the unexpected gesture stood out during a time when “the world can feel heavy sometimes.”…
