District cuts leave FCPS worker wondering if there was another way

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Reality is setting in for Fayette County Public School staff who were recently told they will not return to work next school year.

Fayette County Public School leaders announced that 115 district support positions will be reduced between now and the upcoming 2026-27 school year. That includes layoffs and a cutback in hours.
