Suspect in Cranston murder, deadly Swansea crash pleads not guilty

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — The suspect accused of shooting and killing a man in Cranston then killing two people in a crash in Swansea faced a judge on Wednesday.

Demitri Sousa, 28, of Seekonk, was arraigned on charges out of Cranston: murder, using a firearm while committing a crime of violence, and carrying a pistol without a license.

A plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf and he is due back in court next week for a bail hearing.
