Parents react to Roanoke City Public Schools proposed attendance zone changes

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Hundreds of Roanoke City Public School students may be learning in different buildings next school year.

To fight overcrowding, the district has created a plan to move a number of students. The plan was announced earlier this week. Wednesday, parents get their chance to weigh in at a town hall meeting.

With the opening of the new Preston Park Elementary School, school officials are trying to make adjustments to reduce overcrowding at other elementary schools. These proposed changes will impact Preston Park, Monterey, Fallon Park, Lincoln Terrace, and Round Hill. Many parents tell WDBJ7 they are not happy…
