Fighting back on the ice and on the scoreboard in the final frame in clutch time in the third period yesterday, the Ontario Reign scored a couple of goals to defeat the Coachella Valley Firebirds in Game 3 to take a series lead by a margin of 2-1.
The Reign were down on the scoreboard and on the stat sheet in the game’s first 40 minutes in the opening frame in the first period and in the middle frame. The Firebirds took the lead on the scoreboard in the game’s first period in the opening frame, by a score of 1-0 on a goal from forward Jani Nyman.
