Todd Jones, the longtime public face of Publix leadership, is set to retire as executive chairman effective May 31, 2026, capping a 46-year run that started on the store floor in New Smyrna Beach. Publix announced the move in a company statement that praised Jones for his decades of service and emphasized that he would remain “actively involved” as board chair. In that statement, CEO Kevin Murphy said, “We celebrate Todd’s 46-year career,” and thanked him for mentoring associates and serving customers and communities.
