Quick Mart shooting sparks crime concerns in Prichard, police chief responds

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A local convenience store with a history of deadly shootings is raising concerns about crime in Prichard.

Brother’s Quick Mart in Prichard is the focus of a second homicide investigation in three years.

“At that location, if we get a call at that location, it’s basically shootings or something like that,” Prichard Police Chief Walter Knight said.

Investigators said Sunday afternoon at Brother’s Quick Mart on Martin Luther King Jr Ave, 39-year-old Tyler Carl Edward Hodges was shot and killed after he waved a machete at another driver during an argument.
