Elbridge siblings born deaf now hearing after gene therapy approved by FDA

ELBRIDGE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A life-changing breakthrough is giving deaf children the chance to hear for the very first time. Two young siblings from Elbridge are now hearing their mother’s voice after undergoing a groundbreaking gene therapy approved by the FDA.

“I took them to the Zoo about a month and a half ago, and I could call their names when they went running off to go see the next animal, Raegan, Emrys, and they would turn around and come back, and I was like, yes, this is awesome,” said Erin McLaughlin-Eller, mother of Raegan and Emrys.
