A suspect who was arrested following a break-in at an upscale Beverlywood home Monday night is part of a South American theft group and has been connected to approximately 25 burglaries throughout the city, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
On May 4, the LAPD responded to the 1500 block of Rexford Drive for what they call a “hot prowl” burglary, which is when at least one person is home.
The victim was reportedly inside his home when he heard a loud bang on his glass sliding door. A man was seen on surveillance cameras making entry into the home so, in fear for his life, the victim locked himself inside a bathroom and called 911.
