California anti-ULA tax initiative withdrawn from November ballot in deal with Governor Newsom

The compromise protects LA’s Measure ULA “mansion tax” from a state cap.

California voters will not decide on a sweeping tax-limitation measure this November after business interests and the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association struck a deal with state leaders to withdraw the proposal from the ballot.

The compromise, announced Thursday, removes the Local Taxpayer Protection Act to Save Proposition 13 in exchange for a separate constitutional amendment. Backed by Gov.
