Army veteran finds purpose working in Arkansas orthopedic care

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — As part of our America’s 250 Red, White & YOU, a nationwide effort to highlight the people who shape the country and the stories that connect us, we’re highlighting an Arkansan who’s a third-generation military member and has survived three missions overseas, before he fell in love and found a new mission— helping patients at the UAMS “Ortho Now” orthopedic urgent care clinic.

54-year-old Damon Graham fits right in at an orthopedic center in a t-shirt and scrubs, but many years before he donned a medical uniform, he was in Army attire, continuing a long family tradition of service.

Damon said that when he reached his late teens, he needed to make a change…
