Formerly hung jury finds man guilty of murder

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — A man has been found guilty of murder in a retrial after his first trial in October ended in a hung jury.

On Thursday, 30-year-old Shan Lindell Ford Jr. was given a guilty verdict for his murder charge in connection with a double homicide from June of last year. He was also charged with felony murder and burglary, but was found not guilty of those charges in his initial trial.

In June of 2025, Ford Jr. and Quenecia Gaylor arrived with 39-year-old Anisha Denise Jackson at 28-year-old Tornor Dejuan Doby’s home. Jackson, who was Doby’s ex-girlfriend, decided to wait in the car in the driveway while Ford Jr. and Gaylor confronted Doby.

When the door opened, gunfire rang out between them. According to court documents, Doby missed Ford Jr. and Gaylor and instead hit Jackson, who was still in the car, killing her. Doby also ended up being shot to death.

Gaylor was also handed charges in connection with the shooting, but with two counts of murder and one count of burglary. She entered a plea agreement in January to drop all charges and instead be found guilty of assisting a criminal. The judge accepted, and Gaylor is currently serving a 6-year sentence, with three years suspended…
