Bishop Dwenger girls, Northrop boys roll to SAC track and field titles

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Bishop Dwenger girls clinched back-to-back conference titles, while Northrop boys dominated during a chilly SAC track and field championship meet on Thursday at North Side High School.

A year after winning their first SAC team title since 1977, the Saints marched on to another conference title with a team score of 175. Northrop earned runner-up honors with a score of 117, with Concordia finishing third.

Dwenger’s 4-by-100 relay team headlined a strong night for the Saints by winning with a time of 49.68 seconds, less than two-tenths of a second faster than Northrop’s relay team. The Saints’ 4-by-400 relay team also finished first with a time of 4:02.57. Meanwhile, Samantha Aselage won the 400-meter run with a time of 56.90 seconds, with teammate Reagan Furnas finishing as runner-up…
