Non-profit seeks Myrtle Beach City Council financial support in workforce housing initiative

The Horry County Community Land Trust sought the Myrtle Beach City Council’s financial support in purchasing two properties that would assist in the development of workforce housing at the city’s workshop on Tuesday, May 5.

Assistant City Manager Brian Tucker said the HCCLT acquisition of the two properties, a total of two acres located near Third Avenue North and Broadway Street, would cost between $780,000 – $800,000 for both.

“If you all want us to move forward and fund it, what would happen next is we would go through the due diligence, we would go through the site planning, we would close on the property and the property would be held in the name of the (HC)CLT forever,” Tucker said…
