JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Closing arguments in the murder trial of four men accused of killing Jacksonville rapper Foolio lasted about nine hours Thursday, as prosecutors and defense attorneys gave jurors sharply different versions of what happened the night the rapper was shot and killed in Tampa in 2024.
Foolio, whose real name was Charles Jones, was celebrating his 26th birthday in Tampa on June 23, 2024, when investigators said he was ambushed and killed outside a Holiday Inn hotel.
Prosecutors said the murder was gang-related, and that defendants Isaiah Chance, Sean Gathright, Davion Murphy and Rashad Murphy, who are each charged with first-degree premediated murder, were locked in on a “coordinated mission” to kill Jones…
