OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Nebraska Department of Transportation is studying seven miles of U.S. Highway 75 and asking drivers for input on improvements to one of the metro’s most congested and dangerous corridors.
NDOT is focusing on the stretch known as the JFK Freeway, running from Interstate 80 south to Highway 370 in Bellevue. The agency says it is one of the most dangerous stretches of road it has studied in the metro.
There were more than 1,300 crashes on this stretch during a two-year study period, according to NDOT.
An open house was held at the Kroc Center, where residents had their chance to see early design options and directly tell the state their priorities. A second open house is scheduled for Wednesday at Bellevue University…
