Bossier City teacher saves choking student with Heimlich maneuver

BOSSIER CITY, La. (KSLA) – A Cope Middle School teacher saved a student’s life during class after the sixth-grader began choking on a peppermint.

English teacher Charetta McDaniel was preparing a classroom of 30 students for state testing on a Monday when Jackson Rosalies suddenly couldn’t breathe.

“Well, I was talking to my friend Harry and then, well, I had a bit of a cold, so I just popped a peppermint in my mouth and then it just like kind of slipped through, and then I just started choking,” Rosalies said…
