Patagonia Public Schools reflects on four-day school week after two years

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – As Palo Verde High School on Tucson’s eastside just approved a four-day school week, one southern Arizona district has already been living it for two years.

Patagonia Public Schools is in its second year of the shorter schedule, and the results may offer a preview of what Palo Verde can expect. The district sits about an hour south of Tucson and was facing many of the same issues as Palo Verde, including teacher retention and student attendance, before making the switch in 2024.
