SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. – A tractor-trailer loaded with soybeans overturned early Friday morning at a rural intersection near Godwin.
Just before 6:30 a.m., Clement Fire Rescue and Sampson County EMS were dispatched to the intersection of U.S. Highway 13 and Autry Mill Road for a reported rollover crash.
The first fire engine arrived at 6:33 a.m. and found an overturned tractor-trailer on its right side, officials said. The truck was carrying a load of soybeans destined for Fayetteville.
According to the driver, foggy conditions limited visibility as he approached the four-way stop intersection. The driver said he encountered another vehicle stopped at the intersection and was unable to stop in time.
