Puppy dies after Florida woman caught on camera repeatedly throwing and kicking it onto asphalt multiple times

A small puppy at the center of a disturbing animal cruelty case in Tampa has died after undergoing surgery for injuries officials say were caused when a woman repeatedly kicked and threw him onto asphalt.

WFLA News Channel 8 reporter Staci DaSilva said the dog had drawn widespread concern after the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released surveillance video showing the alleged abuse. But DaSilva reported that the dog died during surgery Tuesday, a development Pet Resource Center officials said left staff devastated after they had spent his final days trying to give him comfort, care and affection.
