Man sentenced for fatal Rancho Cordova house party shooting

(FOX40.COM) — Amyis Coogler, who was convicted earlier this year of murder in connection with a shooting at a Rancho Cordova house party, will spend decades in prison after being sentenced.

Coogler was arrested after a house party on Aug. 5, 2022. At the time, Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a shooting and found the victim, Corey Shearer, on the lawn with four gunshot wounds. Shearer was later declared dead at a hospital.
