WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — An east Wichita on-ramp is closing for the foreseeable future as work gets underway on the Kellogg Avenue expansion in east Wichita.
The Kansas Department of Transportation said starting Wednesday, the ramp from 127th Street East to eastbound Kansas Highway 96 will close as part of the East Kellogg expansion project that got underway in March.
During construction, drivers on 127th Street will not be able get onto eastbound K-96 at the 127th Street interchange. Instead, they will need to continue north on 127th Street, then take 13th Street to the highway.
In addition, drivers exiting the Kansas Turnpike at Exit 53A will have to head west on K-96 up to 13th Street to access eastbound K-96. East Wichita traffic will still be able to get on the turnpike at the 127th Street interchange…
