Spongy moth treatments begin in King, Pierce counties

Don’t be alarmed if you see low-flying aircraft spraying something in parts of King and Pierce counties on Friday.

Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) workers are treating hundreds of acres near Lakewood in Pierce County, and near Lake Youngs in King County, for the spongy moth (formerly known as the gypsy moth).
