GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Grand Rapids has named a new city engineer and is also expanding its retail support efforts in the engineer’s office, contracting with a specialist who will help guide businesses through construction disruptions.
On Friday, May 8, the city announced Cindy Irving as Grand Rapids’ new city engineer following a competitive recruitment process. With nearly 30 years of civil and environmental engineering experience, Irving has served as interim city engineer since January and previously served as assistant city engineer since April 2022.
