Be ready for strong winds in Ottawa and Kent counties until early Wednesday – gusts could peak at 50 mph

A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 10:53 p.m. EDT for strong winds until Wednesday at 12:15 a.m. EDT for Ottawa and Kent counties.

Residents may experience wind gusts of up to 50 mph.

“At 10:51 p.m., a line of strong winds extending from near Grant to near Fruitport to 13 miles west of Grand Haven. Movement was east at 45 mph,” describes the weather service. “Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.”…
