GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The North Carolina Folk Festival revealed two of its headlining acts for 2026 to raucous applause Friday evening at Natty Greene’s Brewing Co. in Greensboro.
On Saturday, the festival will be headlined by three-time Grammy-winning hip hop group The Roots. They won the Grammy for Best R&B Album for “Wake Up!” and Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance for “Hang On in There,” both in 2011, as well as Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for “You Got Me” in 2000. You may recognize them as the house band on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Then, on Sunday, two-time Grammy-winning bluegrass performer Molly Tuttle headlines. She won the Grammy for Best Bluegrass Album for “City of Gold” in 2024 and for “Crooked Tree” in 2023. She was the first woman to win the International Bluegrass Music Association’s Guitar Player of the Year award, which she won in 2017 and 2018…
