Community supports SAA teacher after she was suspended without pay

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The community is rallying to support a Savannah Arts Academy (SAA) teacher after she was allegedly suspended without pay because of art pieces her students created.

Magen Peigelbeck is a ceramics artist and teacher in the visual arts department at Savannah Arts. According to sources, her suspension stems from a student art exhibition that took place on Feb. 27, where two students reportedly created an art piece that criticized Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following a deadly crash that ended the life of a Savannah teacher.

The students’ art piece reportedly contained profane language that the school administration requested them to cover. Sources say other students’ art pieces also contained profanity and were also told to censor them…
