Storm Team 3: Rain & storms for Mother’s Day weekend

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – We’re continuing to track a stalled cold front just south of the area, keeping warm and humid conditions in place along with plenty of clouds and scattered showers and storms both today and through Mother’s Day tomorrow. We remain under a low risk for a few strong to severe storms each day. The main threats will be heavy rainfall and gusty winds, although a few storms could also produce small hail.

Another cold front moves through on Monday, helping to finally push this stalled boundary out of the region. As that front passes, we’ll continue to see scattered showers and thunderstorms, with a low risk for a few stronger storms once again. Gusty winds will be the primary concern within any strong storms.

Behind the front, high pressure builds back in Tuesday afternoon, bringing much more comfortable conditions. Highs will be in the mid 70s with plenty of sunshine. Sunny weather continues through the rest of the week as temperatures gradually warm back up, reaching the low to mid 80s by the end of the week…
