Auburn man charged after police chase through downtown Oswego, police say

OSWEGO, N.Y. — An Auburn man is facing multiple charges after police say he led officers on a dangerous pursuit through downtown Oswego early May 9.

According to the Oswego Police Department, officers first spotted the driver of a 1997 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck around 2:09 a.m. driving recklessly and passing a red light while traveling westbound on West Bridge Street near West Second Street.

Police said officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as 37-year-old Andrew P. Jones, last known to live in Auburn, refused to stop and began driving in an increasingly dangerous manner…
