Jacksonville Man Sentenced to Over 11 Years for Fentanyl, Meth Distribution

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A Jacksonville man has been sentenced to more than 11 years in federal prison for drug trafficking offenses involving fentanyl and methamphetamine, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.

James Herbert Asberry III, 39, was sentenced by Harvey E. Schlesinger to 11 years and three months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. He entered his plea on July 17, 2024.

As part of the sentence, the court ordered the forfeiture of $18,938, which authorities said were proceeds from drug trafficking and were seized at the time of his arrest…
