Soggy weather making an unwelcomed Mother’s Day return

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we do have a chance of some wet weather for Mother’s Day.

That being said, it’s not going to be an all-day washout, and rainfall totals look extremely light. Rather than widespread downpours, most people should just be prepared for a few pesky isolated showers, a midday sprinkle, or some gray skies overhead.

The chance for wet weather begins overnight tonight and could linger until around sunset Sunday. Temperatures will also be cooler because of it, with highs only expected to climb into the upper 60s, with a few places possibly touching 70 degrees. That will feel noticeably cooler compared to what we experienced Saturday.

We’ll shift back to beautiful weather for the start of the workweek. Sunshine returns Monday with temperatures back into the 70s and a light breeze out of the south.

The warming trend continues through the middle of the week, with highs returning to around 80 degrees Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Some spots could even push into the upper 80s by the end of the week.

Throughout this upcoming stretch, I really don’t see many decent chances for rain. Once we get past Mother’s Day, the next opportunity for showers appears to arrive next weekend. Even then, there are still some question marks, and severe weather does not look likely at this time…
