Meth Seized, Dayton, Ohio Man Arrested After K-9 Narcotics Alert During Checkpoint Operation in Laurel County, Kentucky

LONDON, KY – Laurel County Sheriff’s investigators seized approximately two pounds of methamphetamine during a traffic safety checkpoint early Friday morning, leading to the arrest of an Ohio man following a multi-agency drug investigation, according to Sheriff John Root.

Authorities said investigators arrested Robert Taylor, 48, of Dayton, Ohio, at approximately 3:43 a.m. on May 8 at a traffic safety checkpoint near the intersection of Parker Road and Water Works Road west of London.

According to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, deputies deployed K-9 “Ash” to conduct a free-air sniff around Taylor’s gray Kia Forte during the checkpoint operation. Investigators said the K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics, resulting in a probable cause search of the vehicle…
