FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified the body of a man found in a field Thursday after reports of a crash and shots fired in southeast Fort Wayne.
The investigation started around 1:45 p.m. Thursday when police responded to Stardale Drive, which is near the intersection of Paulding and Hessen Cassel roads. The incident started as some type of disturbance between people over a vehicle, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD).
While officers headed to the scene, they also received reports of shots fired in the area, and police found the body, identified as 21-year-old Swa Hid, in a field near the scene. Initially, police could not confirm if the dead body and the initial disturbance were related, but FWPD Sgt. Jonathan Cutler later confirmed to WANE 15 that they were connected.
