Cold front to bring increased rain chances Monday

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Clear skies stick around after a beautiful and warm Mother’s Day. Temperatures fall through the 70s this evening. Overnight clouds will gradually increase, leaving us with mostly cloudy skies by Monday morning. Temperatures start in the upper 50s Monday.

Our next weather maker arrives on Monday with a cold front sparking rain chances to start the work week. Our high temperatures reach the mid-60s around midday before rain arrives and cools things down into the afternoon and evening. Rain looks to arrive between late morning and lunchtime with the best chance for rain in the early afternoon. The chance for rain is 60%. Rainfall totals between 0.1″ and 0.5″.

Sunshine returns on Tuesday and morning temperatures will be in the mid-40s. Afternoon highs reach the low to mid-70s. Clouds and rain chances return to the forecast on Wednesday with another cold front. Wednesday’s rain chance looks less impressive than our early week rain chance but it’s something we’ll continue to keep an eye on. For now, the chance for rain is 40% with mostly cloudy skies.
