Watch: Cars Get Stuck In Floodwaters In Lafayette At University Underpass

Heavy rainfall across Acadiana on Sunday evening (May 10) created dangerous driving conditions, and one moment in Lafayette is getting a lot of attention.

Video circulating online shows at least two vehicles attempting to drive through floodwaters at the University underpass, only to become stranded after stalling out.

Drivers Attempt To Cross Flooded Underpass

The University underpass is known locally for flooding during heavy rain, but that didn’t stop some drivers from trying to make it through.

In the video, at least one vehicle can be seen in high water and is ultimately left stuck, unable to move as floodwaters surround it.

The situation quickly turned from risky to costly, with potential damage likely already done to the vehicle.
