(NewsNation) — Authorities in Washington state say a woman is accused of driving under the influence, mounting a sidewalk and chasing a child before later trying to enter a stranger’s home.
The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded April 28 to a report of a reckless driver who had driven onto a sidewalk and pursued a child riding a dirt bike. The suspect, identified as Wendy A. Clemente, 56, then drove about a mile before attempting to enter a nearby residence, authorities said.
Investigators said a homeowner observed Clemente on a security camera trying door handles. Deputies later found her vehicle parked in the driveway and took her into custody.
