Firearms manufacturer Sturm, Ruger & Co., recently changed its headquarters location from its longtime offices in Fairfield to its facility in North Carolina, but it said that it would maintain offices in Connecticut.
The company indicated the headquarters redesignation in the release last week of its latest quarterly earnings report, which listed Mayodan, North Carolina, in the dateline. In response to an inquiry from CT Insider, the company provided a written statement on Monday that confirmed the change to the headquarters address and said that it took effect on Jan. 1.
Mayodan, a town that is near the North Carolina-Virginia border, hosts the largest of the five manufacturing facilities of Ruger, which makes pistols, revolvers, rifles and shotguns. In contrast, Ruger’s property at 1 Lacey Place, in the Southport section of Fairfield, is an office building that has not housed any manufacturing for several decades.
