A Sunday afternoon argument on a SEPTA platform at Broad and Girard in North Philadelphia ended in deadly violence when a 63-year-old man was stabbed and later died at a hospital, according to police. The confrontation unfolded on the station platform and was reported around 3:23 p.m.
Investigators say the victim was stabbed in his left arm and left side. He was initially alert and talking with officers at the scene, but he was pronounced dead roughly an hour after arriving at the hospital. The attacker ran from the station and has not been caught.
About ten minutes before the stabbing, a caller had alerted police that a wanted man would be at the Broad and Girard station. Detectives later determined that the victim matched the description of a person wanted on a prior aggravated-assault warrant and accused of stabbing a dog, according to NBC10 Philadelphia.
