SUN: Laurel High School fight videos spread online as officials stay mostly silent

As videos of student fights spread across social media from inside Laurel High School, education and law enforcement officials have remained largely silent, offering few answers about campus safety even after police were called to quell multiple incidents during the past week.

Seventeen cellphone videos of students fighting at Laurel High School are posted under the handle Laurel Fight Page on the social media site X. Students also post fight videos on other social media channels, two students and a school employee told The Baltimore Sun. The Sun interviewed these two students on a public sidewalk outside the school on May 7.

Most of the videos appear to show brawls that broke out spontaneously inside school hallways or just outside the school entrance. The fights were recorded by bystanders with cellphones. One of the videos was recorded during the 2024-2025 school year, and most of the rest are from the previous school year…
