26,000 flags will blanket Pooler museum grounds to honor fallen WWII heroes

POOLER, Ga. (WTOC) – The National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force is preparing to honor fallen World War II heroes with its annual “Flags for the Fallen” Memorial Day tribute.

Beginning Friday, May 22, the museum’s Memorial Garden will be filled with 26,000 American flags, each representing an Eighth Air Force airman who lost their life during World War II.
