Suspect in Iowa City shooting arrested in Georgia; faces attempted murder charges

ATLANTA — A 17-year-old suspect in a downtown Iowa City shooting that injured five people last month has been arrested in Georgia, authorities said.

Damarian M. Jones was taken into custody Monday near Atlanta by the U.S. Marshals Service, according to the Iowa City Police Department. He is being held in the Clayton County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Iowa following a hearing in Georgia.
