Syracuse, N.Y. — A long-shuttered South Side community center that once anchored youth sports, family services and neighborhood gatherings is set for a comeback, as a newly formed nonprofit begins redevelopment of the former Bishop Foery Center and surrounding properties.
The South Side Community Growth Foundation has purchased the former community center on Edmund Avenue, along with a vacant house and two empty lots across the street.
