Storm Track 3 Forecast: Isolated Tuesday storms, high pressure brings the heat

Warm temperatures have returned to the region early this week. This will carry over into tonight with lows primarily in the 50s. The sky will stay clear with a few clouds approaching from the north late tonight.

A cold front will track into the northwest corner overnight and move through the state on Tuesday. Highs will warm into the 80s and 90s. Goodland may stop short in the upper 70s where it will be cooler behind the boundary.

Toward late evening and the early overnight, a few showers and storms will develop along this boundary.

There is a Marginal Risk outlined for the possibility of large hail and damaging winds.

The tornado threat is low, but not zero. Any activity will struggle to build back to the west toward the Wichita area before exiting.

Temperatures will back off slightly on Wednesday, however it will still be unseasonably warm in the 80s. The heat keeps building back on Thursday and Friday with more hitting the 90-degree mark.

We may be able to pop a few isolated storms Thursday and again on Friday.

A much more organized chance of storms aligns for Saturday. The Storm Prediction Center has parts of southern Kansas into Oklahoma at risk for severe weather.

The moisture content will increase by this time and the atmosphere will be much more unstable. All forms of severe weather are possible with a tornado threat.

This will start a more active stretch of wave after wave of showers and storms into next week.

Next Monday looks cooler than the weekend with highs changing away from the 90s to the 70s and 80s.
