WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Dozens of faith leaders from across Palm Beach County gathered Tuesday morning for a security training event hosted by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, aimed at strengthening safety at houses of worship.
The training, held at the Hilton Palm Beach airport hotel, was organized by PBSO’s Business Partners Against Terrorism (BPAT) Unit and included a breakfast session. Sheriff Ric Bradshaw addressed attendees.
Officials introduced a new Alert Notification System that will notify houses of worship by text, phone call, and email when a potentially dangerous incident occurs within a quarter-mile of their location.
