Tennessee law allows EMS to treat, transport injured K-9 officers

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Gov. Lee has signed a new law allowing EMS groups to treat and transport K-9s injured on duty.

The state’s first emergency flight to save a K-9 happened a few weeks ago. K-9 Luca from the Clay County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office came into contact with ozone and was given emergency medical care at UT’s vet school. He is doing better now.
