WPXI reports that its investigative team obtained the jail-cell footage and posted it with a clear viewer-discretion warning. The station also notes that local accountability advocates, including the Alliance for Police Accountability, are pressing Munhall leaders for public answers and meetings with borough officials about what happened in that cramped holding cell.
The incident traces back to the night of Feb. 9 and 10, 2025, when Munhall officers arrested 38-year-old Christopher Allie on domestic-violence complaints and placed him in a holding cell, according to WTAE. County investigators say Allie tried to block the cell camera, was confronted by officers, was tased, then grabbed one officer around the neck. Another officer fired multiple rounds, hitting Allie. He was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition and later charged with aggravated assault, strangulation and resisting arrest, investigators told the station.
What the footage shows
The clip published by WPXI appears to show officers entering the holding cell after noticing Allie trying to cover or obstruct the surveillance camera. A fast-moving struggle breaks out, with a brief physical confrontation, multiple taser deployments and an officer ultimately firing while another officer appears to be held at the neck. The station labeled the footage disturbing and again flagged it with a viewer-discretion advisory.
Investigation and charges
