Stepping through an original oak Tudor door calls for taking a moment to pause and admire the large mirror greeting anyone who enters the bright foyer at 234 Olympia St.
Approximately 30″ by 48″, the striking piece sets the tone for a Mt. Washington home imbued with architectural character, Pittsburgh connections and a neighborly sense of community. Framed with gilded ornamentation, the mirror once graced a wall inside the iconic William Penn Hotel, which opened on March 9, 1916, in Downtown Pittsburgh. The antique looking glass was obtained by the home’s previous owners when the landmark hotel was undergoing renovations.
