AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) — A chaotic morning outside two Aurora schools forced Cherokee Trail High School and Fox Ridge Middle School into SECURE status after police said a 17-year-old drove a stolen vehicle recklessly through campus property before disappearing, prompting an hours-long police response that stretched into dismissal.
According to Aurora police, the incident began after the teen’s mother reported him as a runaway overnight and said he had stolen her vehicle.
